Qualifications:
Current California Physician Assistant (PA) license/Current Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in good standing At least 1 year of clinical experience is preferred Oncology experience is a plus, though not required Recent graduates may be considered and are encouraged to apply Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of healthcare professionals
Responsibilities:
PA/NP will work closely with and/or under the direction of the physicians PA/NP will evaluate and manage adult oncology and hematology patients during scheduled and emergency office visits:
new patient consults and follow-ups for patients undergoing active treatment, on active surveillance or hematology follow-ups PA/NP will provide direct patient care to a diversified patient population PA/NP will educate patients and families on disease processes, treatment options, and self-care strategies.
PA/NP will be expected to order medications and diagnostic testing, interpret laboratory values and diagnostic test results safely and appropriately PA/NP monitor and manage side effects of treatment, adjusting care plans as necessary PA/NP is expected to act as an expert resource person for health care providers including nurses and other team members PA/NP will assist with triage of urgent patient needs Sierra Hematology and Oncology is an equal opportunity employer.
